Cool Websites

• POP Checker- Check your POP e-mail from anywhere by directly accessing the server through the web. You can read, forward, delete and reply all from the web. Great if you're away from home and have access to the internet.

• Backflip- bookmark cool websites into an online organizer so that you can access them from any computer online. Never lose a favorite website again! There's even a public folder to share bookmarks with others.

• Shield's Up- Check the security of your connection to the internet.

• StuffBak- Here's a neat product on the web. StuffBak sells labels with your ID on them. Register your tags. Then you can attach them to articles (ie., luggage, sunglasses, laptop, keys). Then if something "disappears", the label tells the finder how to return it easily, and get a reward, too. Upfront, all you pay for is the label ($1.95) and then if an item is lost, you pay for the shipping (return) and add a cash reward if you want to. Sounds like a practical service!

• MODIS- (or Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) Terra MODIS is viewing the entire Earth's surface every 1 to 2 days, acquiring data in 36 spectral bands, or groups of wavelengths. US gov't site- great images as wallpaper for your desktop!

• Budget Dial Up Prepaid ISP-Like a pre-paid phone card only for your internet usage. Good backup for broadband, a casual user or a travelling laptop. Use only the hours you pay for and carry the unused hours over to the next month. $6.95 for 20 hours. Very practical!

• Search 22- Search any search engine by typing in a key word and choosing your preference.
